Festive Season Day 1 Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas to all and all that jazz.
Christmas EVE.

My Christmas would have to have been one of the poorest yet, but nonetheless it’s been alright. On Christmas Eve we headed out to Mandurah which is South of Perth.

HAYYYYYYYYYY!
So we hit the road which was a more than interesting drive, my brother had consumed some coca-cola so he was more than enthused about the drive.

We were driving down the road listening to the sweet tunes of Celtic Music and having a good ol’Irish sing along. Think what you want about that but it was damn fun, you should try it some time but I quote my brothers mate “Root Beer, Irish Music, Speaking Chinese – You guys are f*#ked up.”

Further down the road we saw this which was a healthy reminder not to speed this holiday season.
Anyway so yeah alot of music and what not then we reached Mandurah FINALLY! The new Highway made the journey pretty quick which was good.

We headed over to get some food after screwing around with the arts exhibition.

My bro is a camwhore.

So we went and ate at “Hans Cafe: Authentic Asian Restraunt.”
HAHAHA what a joke. I ate there about 4 years ago when it wasn’t so franchised and it was awesome, This time round it was absolute overpriced crap.

The Spring rolls where bland.
The Garlic Prawns Lacked Garlic.
The beer was alright though.

After the less than mediocre lunch we set out to find the best ice cream in the universe and we found it all within a 5 second walk.

Simmo’s Ice cream started in Dunsborough WA in the south near busselton. Since their start they have some franchises around perth.
We ate at the mandurah one.

HoneyComb and Chunky Monkey (choc banana)

Sundae
White choc Malteser

So after food we went on Beach Hunt!~
Not much to say here except we didn’t end up swimming because it was not hot enough. I know that sounds crazy but what can ya do.

Enjoy The View~!

Don is Good. Don is EASY!

Ok, So I thought i’d give this a go! I know it’s not exactly gourmet or gourmet at all. Unless you consider one of the definitions of gourmet; to appreciate good food. Well! This is GOOD food and whats more important is that this is easy. VERY easy. Ok so the monstrosity that I have created for the Don’s Competition is: Roti Pizza!

This is what it takes:

1 Roti Prata
1 Heaped Spoon of Pizza Sauce
1 Hand of Pizza Cheese (Chedder + Mozzerella)
2 Slices of ANY Don Meat. ( I used Roast Chicken, English Leg Ham & Double Smoked Leg Ham)

How long you may ask?
About 5 minutes.

METHOD:
Step 1.
 Go get your ingrediments!

Its best to use Pizza Cheese here (because I said so)

Step 2.
Spread the sauce evenly over half of the prata, then put your cheese on, then put your DON meat on!
(Tear the meat by hand if you wish)

Step 3.

Fold the roti over then place it on the hot pan, leave it on one side for a couple of minutes then flip it, leave it on that side for another minute or so.

Step 4.

Then serve it up!

THATS IT! HOW EASY IS THAT~!

I like this because it’s so simple and it tastes damn nice, of course you can make it taste even better if you add veggies and what not, but I didn’t have anything fresh in my kitchen at the time and I think just having the cheese and the Don’s meat is enough! You can really taste the meat, it’s damn nice weii. The other great thing about this – It’s QUICK! You can cut it up and make small finger foods for parties, you can premake it then just cook it up when you want to!
(remember to store in an airtight container)

UPDATE: Sorry I should have mentioned this, You can buy the premade prata at any Asian Grocery store and of course you can buy Don’s at any leading Supermarket!
***UPDATE***
Thanks to Nuffnang Australia and Don’s For Choosing this post as winner in the Don’s Competition!
Optional Step 5.

Invite a few friends around to join in on the fun of Don’s Prata!

Popcorn Chips?!

Who would’ve thought that you could get Popcorn in the form of chips?!

Well one awesome person did, Smiths Chips was having a competition and this guy got his flavour selected, There is 3 other flavours aswell: Caesar Salad, Late night kebab, BBQ Coat of Arms.

Caesar Salad: Awesome, Just plain awesome. The chips smells like lettuce.
BBQ Coat of Arms: Tastes like I threw up in my mouth a bit, the taste was like artificial smoke.
Late night kebab: Tasted like air until you breathed out, then it tasted like garlic. -.-
Buttered Popcorn: Simply Amazing. Taste Just like popcorn. CRAZY.

The winner will be announced on December the 16th.
