So, I first have to say that you’re all lucky for reading my post before making a decision to go! Okay, not like that! I don’t mean my post is awesome, I mean you’ll be informed! Aiyaaa you all think I’m so cocky like that!

I went thinking that I was going to be spending a night getting pampered and my feet massaged. Why? because I didn’t do any research! HAHAAHA I really thought that, the whole bus trip up to Genting! Go ahead and laugh!

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised with what we were greeted with though! It was an amazing night that we spent in the jungle! I’d love to do it all over again… minus the rain!~

We started our journey at Golden Mile. I had my kaya toast and teh tarik (in a bag) in hand. I ordered from the aunty who didn’t speak any english and I didn’t speak much mandarin… so it was a good way to start the morning, you know playing guess what the crazy angmoh is saying!

I waited for a while and no one had reached. I was all like “YEAH, FIRST! FIRST!” <;<; kinda like those kids on youtube videos that are so proud that they are first. Until I realised that everyone was on the other side of the road. woops.

Met up with everyone on the other side of the road and jumped on the bus! BUS WAS SUPER COMFY! I’ve never been on the bus from Singapore to KL before… I’ve only ever flown! So this was a first, it was nice up until my bladder started screaming “TOILET, WHERES THE TOILET?!??!”

So I sat the whole 6 hours eagerly waiting for the next toilet stop. I am the WORST person to travel with on a bus, I just sit there and stare out the window longing for the loo! I thought I was the only one on the bus feeling the same way but when I stopped the bus everyone else followed. Then later I found that our wonderful manager Hui Xian also has a demanding bladder… from this the #weakbladderclub formed.

We reached Genting, the trip is so fun though! Especially when driving through KL! You can see the Petronas towers and all! I didn’t snap any pics because I was afraid that if I took my mind off controlling my bladder bad things would happen!

The food was there waiting, buffet style. Was good to have something to eat especially seeing as I only had 2 clorets mints on the trip up. Dieting yo!

Good to see that they’re getting into the spirit of things.

Time to get down to business. We’re getting a tour of the facilities. My biggest fear was that the toilets would be nasty but they were clean and tidy with locking doors and TOILET paper! Fantastic. A man is now happy.

This where we stayed! I love it! Long House. They weren’t lying, it really is long.

We stayed here overnight. Was really nice at night, everyone hung out together, played “Throw the glow sticks on the bottle of water” game and had fun! We also did activities in here slept there too!

This is where we ate our meals! This place was damn nice! It was like a hotel buffet inside! Let me see if I can find a photo of it!

The food here was really good! And so good that we got our own private chefs! You can see the pics of those at Billy and Peishi’s blogs!

There was heaps of fun activities to do!~ We went on the flying fox, Rock climbing (which I loved), archery (which I bluffed and told them I’d done before but have never done it, ever, like taylor swift ever) and treasure hunting!

We were also made to eat ice creams at night! IN THE COLD! It was painful but also painfully hilarious!

We had to eat the icecream within a minute or so then throw the stick into the bucket from a distance, then tag our team mate then they’d do the same by the end of the game I knew the formula… shame it was at the end! HAHAHA

After the ice cream games we had a campfire! It was awesome, the heat, the smoke and the GAMES!

First we played “Pass the balloon and if the music stops then you’re the one who has to carry out the dare” game! Was quite funny because peishi got the balloon too many times and had to embarrassing things like BARKING CHRISTMAS CAROLS! I was lucky enough not to capture the balloon!

After that we played a charade style game! This was hilarious… It was like Chinese Whispers mixed with charades. Some of the mixed messages were hilarious and people’s actions… oh my.

AFTER this we had gula farm milo and lepak-ed till lights out! OFF TO SLEEP!

We woke the next morning, showered and got ready for some fun and games!

After breakfast we were greeted by the giant slippers!

Our team had to jump on these and make our way to one end and back! We came second!

After walking in giant slippers and looking like monkeys we were given our next task!
I call this the “Tie up all your belongings to make a huge line of things and win” game.

Luckily for our team we had a lot of things on our person! Our line was the biggest *cough cough*

There was one more challenge after this. We had to run to one point and suck up elastic bands just after being made dizzy.

NOW! POINTS ARE EQUAL for the top two teams.

The final challenge. Make a Cheer. The best cheer anyone had ever known.

Ours was some rip off of an american basketball team or something! haah We just made it fit our team name “The three musketeers.” We actually had 4 people in our team but the team name needed to be associated with the number 3.

Anyway, we lost. WE came second though! And we won a prize! 2D1N stay at theme park hotel’s deluxe room! Thank you!

After that we ate and jumped back on the bus but not before we took over 1 million photos. Okay, not really one million photos but you know what I mean. It’s a blogger event! What’d you expect?!

I had an awesome time at Awana Genting, I’d recommend it to anyone who is looking to get a bit of adventure in their lives and just have a bit of fun! The staff are great and the location is perfect!

There was so many ‘firsts’ this week, which is good! If you do the same repetitive things over and over it gets a bit boring!

I’ve eaten so much food that I’ve nearly exploded and I’ve most likely put on 10 kg’s – but that’s what life is all about, fun times and good food.

I went to Genting for the second time! This trip was with the nuffnang bloggers and churp2 churpers! All of that will be coming up in its own blog post… why? BECAUSE THERE IS SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT!

I also went to legoland with my friend Kiro, who I haven’t seen in SO LONG! Although I think I won’t go too many times… I’ve seen nearly everything that I wanted to see there. It was raining when we were there so we couldn’t really explore at our leisure! I got my annual pass though, so that’s pretty sweet

Going to LegoLand for the first time meant going to JB for the first time. You can really tell it was my first time too because it took me THREE HOURS TO GET THERE. No joke. I went with my friend Kiro, who hasn’t been many times and wasn’t really familiar with it all. We met up at 11:30 and didn’t reach JB till 3:30. We took a taxi from Jurong East to where you take the bus but the taxi uncle dropped us nearby to Tuas checkpoint at some old bus interchange obviously there is no JB bus there so we had to then take another bus back to Boon Lay.

That took us an hour or so. Then when we finally got back to the checkpoint we missed the bus and had to wait for another. Then when we got to the JB checkpoint our bus wasn’t there again so we just took a random Causeway bus. We ended up at a mall in JB and had lunch, when we came out it was pouring down so hard outside. We then needed to take a cab. Raining = no cab = takes a long time. Anyway, I now know exactly how to NOT go to JB!

I’ll blog a whole load of photos when I get my camera cable. Do you know how troublesome it is to lose your camera cable?!?

I was eagerly anticipating the release of Ah Boys To Men! I missed the Gala opening by a few days but I caught the movie last night! Cinema was packed out, not really surprising though because it’s what everyone is talking about…apart from the foam in CCK.

I liked the movie, especially the opening sequence. I thought it was damn cool. A bit of a SAF *showcase* though. For some reason I was really expecting it to be like Army Daze and there was certain scenes that were just like it.

My favourite scenes were the ones with Lobang and Alex Ong[ToshRock]. Those guys are not bad actors especially seeing as they aren’t pros [to my knowledge.] I was just reminded, one of my favourite scenes is when IP man [Noah] was trying to have sex with his GF and his Ma comes in! The GF doesn’t want to have sex and says “Oh yay I love the door cause cannot lock, so good” hahaha oh man, so good that part. And thanks to Rachell for reminding me AND I can’t forget the CB leaf… Anyway, won’t spoil it too much!

Most annoying thing would have to be that it’s in two parts!!! Now we’ve got to wait till Feb7th for the second part!

Also, there’s no ang moh soldiers! Wtf!?

We had to wait a while before we got into the auditorium but we bumped into some old friends so that was a good catch up! When we got inside we rushed all the way to the front seats!

Little did we know but we actually sat two or three rows infront of AJ and Andrew! As soon as that news got out all the people around us were taking photos and screaming… I’ve never heard so many declarations of love before!

I must tell you this: there was this girl who performed first! She was only 16/17 and had the most amazing pipes! Her little brother, who was only thirteen, was on the guitar! He was really good too!

The next day I met my friend Izni, who is a massive AJ fan, at Curtin Uni and then we headed to Murdoch Uni for the show. I thought it was quite cool to have the concert in the lecture theatre… Ive never experienced anything like that before!

I’ve been a huge AJ fan ever since I came across him on BlogTV! I used to watch his shows every time they were on, which was at unusual times because of the time difference.

I’ve always admired the way AJ has chased his dreams. It was wonderful to hear about his plans and aspirations that he used to share with us on btv… Now it is amazing to watch them come true. He’s a true inspiration to me. I can’t sing and I don’t aspire to be a singer but I remember AJ saying something about it being an Internet age and there is huge power in the Internet and it is a great platform to live out your dreams. I’ve followed that motto for the past 5 years.

Anyway, I could bore you with all that talk!

It was a great evening to actually meet the man behind the songs that I sing along to in the car! I grabbed some photos and autographs from AJ and Andrew Rhim! Although I didn’t have a copy of the album or any autograph book… I just used one of my business cards! From there AJ recognised my name… I think from twitter! Was a good feeling to be recognised! Haha

Oh I didn’t take my camera because I just wanted to spend the night ‘experiencing’ the music. I went to a gig in Singapore last month where there was so many ‘photographers’ who weren’t enjoying the music for what it was… So I decided just to enjoy the music!

It was a really fun and exciting night!

When we arrived in the afternoon the street carnival was going on! So many people in costumes making their way down Orchard Road! It was an amazing sight to see! Although, it was a little hard for us to actually get past them all… we ended up walking down the actual road! The costumes were fantastic – You could see that a lot of effort was put in!

The opening ceremony was topped off by a concert filled with talented artists. The line-up included two Singaporean acts; Rising YouTube artiste Clarence Liew and well known duo Jack and Rai. Headlining the night was Australian Twins Janice and Sonia Lee aka ‘Jayesslee‘ – These two talented sisters made their fame through YouTube!

Jack and Rai got everyone rocking with their energy packed performance! These two have a great stage presence and they know how to work a crowd! Two older people in the audience packed with youth were dancing away to their tunes, they got into it – I mean REALLY got into it!

This is what everyone was waiting for! The performance by Jayesslee! They were fantastic as always and had some wise and inspiring words to share with the crowd!

They also shared with everyone that they loved Char Kway Teow, although they couldn’t pronounce it, they’d been enjoying the food all week long.

Something they also brought up which I find a good point to make was that Singaporean Youth are very lucky to have a Youth Festival! In Sydney, where the girls are from, they don’t have anything like it for the youth!

(as for me, in Perth, we don’t have anything like it either!)

After the show the girls were escorted through Takashimaya! It was crazy, all the fan girls/boys were chasing after them!

I’ll have more photos of the performance up later but there’s my wrap up of the event!

Seriously, Pulau Ubin is one of the cheapest ways to have fun – Well, if you’re an outdoorsy sort of person!

We had an incredibly fun day riding around the island – we even reunited a lost teacher with her students and got a cheer from another group of students! Shout out to the kids from Hua Yi Secondary!

We stopped off at this new ‘resort’ It was amazing! It was true Pulau Ubin style! The tables made out of bits of mis-matched wood. Thatched roof, the walls made from pallets! Loved it!

Not many places in Singapore that look like this anymore!

I bought a new camera bag! So comfortable. Much better than my previous crumpler sling bag. Cheaper too!

Was a really fun shoot – a hilarious bunch of people! Divian from 987, Shawnrick, Danial and Dee Kosh kept us entertained throughout the day.

I don’t think I can say much about the shoot because that’d spoil the surprise so make sure you keep your eyes out for 987TV the video counterpart to 987fm – Singapore’s number one hit music station!

After the shoot Asirah and I went to Wafflelicious! Our favourite waffle shop in Singapore!

I had a traditional waffle with vanilla bean ice cream and longan with chocolate sauce and asirah had cinnamon waffle with cookies and cream ice cream! We washed it down with our signature drink, coke!

Wafflelicious is located along upper thomson road! They are open till late so there is no excuse not to go! AND they’ve just lowered their prices!

After some wafflelicious we headed back to scape’s flesh imp and picked up a shiGGa shay shirt! Only $35 to support local artists Well worth it.

So we quickly walked around and took a look at what was going on. It was pretty cool to see all the vehicles and weapons up close. Those that have done NS wouldn’t be surprised by it at all – as I haven’t I was pretty surprised at the size and build of the machines. The last time I went to an Army open house was when I was a small boy!

After the open house we went to MakanSutra to eat, just before we ate we watched the most adorable kids play together. Not creepy at all, okay!

The lines were really long at MakanSutra… we had to wait for ages to get a seat and lost to a kiasu auntie, not once but twice. Kiasu Auntie 2 – Angmoh 0.

The next day I had a ‘meeting’ at Churp Churp. I say meeting because I want to sound all professional and all. We just dropped by to pick up some movie tickets and have lunch!

So we picked up some tickets to go see “Ghost on Air” – It was an okay movie. The shooting of it was really good though!

For lunch we had Prata with Hui Xian and Jayne! I offered to take them to a Prata stall that was nearby but we got there and they said they weren’t selling any prata or maggi today. WHAT SORT OF PRATA STALL DOESN’T SELL PRATA>!?!?!?!>RT{F!>!

but this was a perfect opportunity to go to Al Jilani – my all time favourite prata stall.

FUN FACT: Al Jilani was recently featured in the Channel U drama “Jump!”

It took as ages to get a cab but I managed to steal one! Kiasu aunties  2 – Angmoh 1 HAH!

I was somehow convinced, it wasn’t very hard, to make banana bread for everyone in the Nuffnang/churp2 office! I was so ready to do it but when we were back at the office, playing band hero, I got a call that I had to attend a shoot the next day. Bad Luck for them, my banana bread was awesome!

Trivia: I have never made banana bread before!

Now that I’ve said that’s what I’m going to do I have to do it! So I searched the web for an easy recipe and found one that I liked!

Much to my amazement Banana Bread is incredibly easy to make! Who’d a thought it?!

Here’s some photos of my baking adventure!

Firstly, mix all the dry ingredients together.

Mix all the 'wet' ingredients together

then, mix all the wet and dry ingredients together

but before you do that you should make a well to pour the wet ingredients into!

once you've mixed it all together make sure your spoon it into a loaf dish that you've prepared

into the oven, at 180 degrees for 50 minutes, it goes!

This banana bread will keep in an airtight container out of direct sunlight for up to 3 days. Alternatively, place in an airtight container, then label, date and freeze for up to 1 month. Place in the fridge overnight to thaw.

What is Top Geek? Top Geek is a competition in Australia to find the Geekiest person – The Top Geek!

The winner scores a trip to an international convention and they get to hold the title of iinet’s Top Geek! The Geeks first have some challenges and those that are the best in their category proceed to the final – the final is the Quiz!

The night was hosted by Lawrence Leung, a comedian and writer from Melbourne. He’s a pretty funny guy – A brilliant host too, kept the whole show together.

I left my house at about 5:40 to get there by 6:30 – I decided to spoil myself and took a cab. LET ME TELL YOU THIS – If I hear anymore of my Singapore friends complain about how expensive cabs are I will ham tam you!

You need to take a look at THIS:

$69.93 for a cab from my house to the city… that’s the same distance from Jurong to Town… You do the maths… oh, that’s Australian Dollars… so that’d be $87.78 Singapore Dollars – That’s a lot of nasi lemak. Well, 40 plates of nasi lemak if you want to be exact.

Back to Top Geek – When I arrived I didn’t see anyone that I knew so I headed to the bar for a glass of coke because I’m a heavy drinker like that! haha.

Moments later I was lucky enough to spot @noodlez and @supercujo!

After swigging a few cokes I thought it was about time that we ate. There was waiters, can you call them waiters? Anyway, there was staff, people, beings bringing food around!

It was quite delicious – It wasn’t really geeky though, I recommended that they brought things like Cheezels, Cheese Soup, Cereal and Heat n’ Eat meals served on motherboards… much geekier!

After chowing down all that food it was time to go inside – The stage and venue for this years Top Geek was much better than the last.

Last year was at an open air bar in Mt Lawley – So when it rained we all got wet… And the bar tab was limited and the food sucked and so did the stage.

I think they did a good job!

There was a few rounds of questions as the final came down to a good old fashioned quiz. Some of the questions were so easy and it was surprising that the geeks didn’t get the answers!

Audience questions got responses straight away! I answered one and won a pair of socks! Last year I won a shirt too! Funnily enough it was from the same category of questions – Twitter!

Soon enough I’ll have a whole wardrobe! hahaha.

The night kept on going with questions and answers – someone from the audience even won an iPad!

The competition came down to a game of “Cheese or Font” – The geeks had to guess whether the name that Lawrence called out was a Cheese or Font! It was an intense few minutes and from that the Winner was crowned!
