Dee Kosh App

It appears that iPhone apps in Singapore are getting produced at a rate that is unmeasurable by man…

Speaking of men. Dee Kosh is a man, a man with an app!

Today the #DeeKoshApp was released. Dee Kosh is the first Singaporean youtuber to have his own app… Actually, I think he’s the first Singapore Celebrity to have his own app. Well, Besides the Noose app – but that’s more for a show not a single person.

Where do I get this app from and how much is it?

The app is completely FREE! Yes, FREE! You can download it on the app store: Click here to go straight to the app store.

What is inside the app, anything cool?

When you first open up the app you’ll see some annoying eyebrows Click through this and you’ll be on the main screen – from that main screen you’ll have a whole lot of cool things to choose from. Ringtones, Twitter stream, Videos, Latest updates (this is for things like where Dee is MC’ing etc.), Youtuber of the month – this is pretty sweet, Music Chart, Rantings, Friends and a Who is Dee Kosh? (Which was written by me!)

Did someone say RINGTONES? Yes, You can now download Dee Kosh’s fake accent straight to your iPhone and have him yell at you when you’re not answering your calls! Some of them are pretty hilarious… and from the twitter reviews it looks as though everyone is loving them! My favourite is the hosehbo – it goes for AGES!

HOSEEHBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Moving on,

Youtuber of the month is a feature that I absolutely love – each month Dee will feature a youtuber, obviously, and tell you why he likes them and why you should watch them. This is awesome for those of you who want to find more hilarious people. This month he featured Danial Ron – If you’ve read my blog before you may have seen him in a previous post.

The last couple of features that I’d love to share with you are the “Friends of Dee Kosh” and “Who is Dee Kosh?”

Friends of Dee Kosh is full of photos of the people that Dee Kosh has met – I love this as it allows everyone and anyone to become part of the app! All you have to do is take a photo with Dee! How cool is that?

Lastly, the “Who is Dee Kosh” tab.

This is by far the coolest part…why? BECAUSE I WROTE IT! hahaha

You can read the full thing when you download the app! :D

-

There is a couple of other funny thing to check out too… when you tap on Dee’s face he yells things at you like “kau bodoh ape?!?”

There are a few other things to check out so go and download today…Android user? Sorry, you’ll just have to wait.

Power98FM’s new iPhone app

power98_open

A new lineup, a new sound and now a new app! It’s all happening at Power98FM!

I just tried out Power 98′s new iPhone app. I’ve been keeping a close eye on Power98 ever since their re-branding… because obviously I’m heavily interested in all things radio and I think it is very interesting to watch how well they pull it off or not… it is especially interesting to me when it’s a radio station!

So here is my quick review of the all new Power98FM iPhone app:

When you first open up the app you get to see the new logo then next is space for an advert – at the moment it is showing a lovely pic of the new crew.

Sonja, Elliot, Hubert, Charmaine, JK, Emily, Dr D, Jamie and Mister Young.

Once the app is loaded you get to see the “on air” section. This is one of the nicer User Interfaces that I’ve seen. However, If I created the app I would’ve put the Play/Stop button further down next to the volume bar. I don’t know why they put it up the top… The other thing is you need to have the silencer switched turned to ‘loud’ in order for the music to play. I find that annoying because I like to have my phone on silent but my music to still play.

The design is nice and clean – I like that!

Take a look at this feature – I think it’s pretty cool. They call it the “Social Map.” It is pretty simple to understand. Just look at the instructions!

They have all the up-to-date information about the shows – which is awesome! I’ve shown you JK and Emily’s show -I often tune into these two – Just to listen to ah beng vs atas and listen to Emily’s accent, it has always interested me since hearing her first on 987fm.

They’ve also put all the contest info on here which is awesome because you can keep up to date with all the latest competitions BUT the best thing about this is that you can actually call straight from the app or email straight out. This isn’t a new thing but the placements of the buttons are well put. Makes it so much easier to call/SMS/email!

You can also check out all the DJ profiles too. Some of them are quite humorous and if you aren’t familiar with the all new line up you’ll surely be after reading their bio’s.

Then finally they’ve got the Facebook interaction page here… personally I would’ve chosen to have a twitter stream here instead. Twitter is much better for two way communication and I love twitter! haah.

All in all I like the app – I’d make a couple of mine UI changes but that’s about it!
